Landlord Certificates Oxford

Under the Consumer Protection Act 1987, landlords have a legal obligation and a duty of care to tenants to ensure that the electrical installation & the electrical equipment supplied is safe. Failure to comply may constitute a criminal offence which carries a maximum penalty on summary conviction of a £5,000 fine and/or six months imprisonment.

For further information please refer to http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1987/43

As an approved contractor of the NICEIC we are able to perform a test and inspection of a property to establish whether the electrical installation meets the standards of the BS7671 Wiring Regulations. This is officially known as Electrical Installation Condition Report.

Electrical Installation Condition Report.

An operative will require access to your consumer unit (fuse box), lighting and power circuits, switches and sockets. Please note that this report does not cover electrical appliances such as cookers etc. A report will be completed which includes the extent of the installation, any limitations found, recommendations and the overall assessment i.e. satisfactory/unsatisfactory.

This usually doesn’t require too much upheaval and can generally be completed within a few hours based on a standard three bedroomed house.

The current charge for an EIC Report which includes full test and inspection of installation & certificate is as follows:
Oxford City Limits £130
10 miles + £150
Please note certification will be supplied upon full payment of invoice.
